No, but up until U16 decided to hijack the story back in chapter 9, the story was consistently done from the point of view of U18. U16 didn't really have any presence in the story up until chapter 3 (aside from the intro). Plus, Salagir stated that the fighters of U18 were the main characters. Also, it's a tournament where nobody is supposed to fight outside of their matches. That pretty much limited everyone's actions until the Broly fiasco and the subsequent Zen Buu incident.

exactly. from the point of view. they dont have to be the main heroes for the story to be told from their view. eg. star wars. told from the view of the robots. but luke and leia and han are the heroes. u18 - c3p0 and r2d2. U16 - luke, leia, han, chewie. get my drift?

Thing is, Salagir said they're the main characters. The manga started out (not the preview) with the main universe we all now, U18. If U16 were the main characters, we would've seen their universe instead.

I'm not worried, U18 will get their screentime. Salagir even said even though he gave Goku and Vegeta the limited power growth, they still have techniques and whatnot that will help them get up to have enough power to fight the main villain, not including the Fusion Dance and Potarras.

Because Dragon Ball Z was a shounen manga. Would you be satisfied if Dragon Ball Multiverse suddenly turned into a romantic comedy between Kat and Kakarotto? Or if it abruptly ended with Zen Buu absorbing Broly and killing everyone? Or if it suddenly switched to the political corruption within the Vargas that lead to this tournament being created for sinister means?

So far, I find the special meh. I mean, why would Vegetto have to be under the Kaioshins? Sure, they gave him the Potaras, but he was the one who kicked ass, and would have done so anyway. And the way everyone in U16 is acting, is seems that they take what he does with a grain of salt. None of them look like they care about being an "enforcer", especially Vegetto.
