U16 Special

how do you guys think this will turn out? i forget who's drawing but its not albertuculas. and apparently its humour orientated but im sure we will see bra and pan's training.

Well, Salagir did say a while ago the next chapter will be a special, and apparently, someone posted in the French section that it will be about U16. If it's mainly humor, then it sure will be interesting. Maybe it'll show Vegetto's appetite problem?

Actually, I don't mind U16 anymore, even though I hate Vegetto for staying with Bulma. I could just see that as an alternate universe to "what should've happened".

I think it's annoying that the special is about U16. Not because I hate Bra and not because I like Goku/Vegeta better than Vegetto, just because we already have several pages about what happened in U16 as a fan-fic in the French section. I would much rather have a special about U9, and then later (after all or nearly all of the other specials) have a special about U16.
Especially if the special is going to to be 'funny' instead of some more background. But I will give this U16 special the benefit of doubt and wait and see

i must say the latest page is one of the best in the whole comic. glad to be laughing again and not raging.

What's so funny? The joke is obvious, but the hilarity seems quite absent.

Actually, many people are hating on the page, and are assuming that Salagir made it just to disprove the people thinking that Bra is a Mary Sue. Of course, that is not the case, seeing as Salagir thought of the page ages ago.

As for Bra, she has Mary Sue traits, but doesn't at the same time. So it's half and half.

does she have a ridiculously long name and is the daughter of everyone? no.
does she fall in love with a main character? decidedly not as of yet.
does she have zero flaws and perfect in every way? no. bra is a very flawed and inexperienced person.
does she have super duper master control over her powers and is immortal and can talk to animals? no. bra cant control her full power.
is she impossibly beatiful and every guy in the arena instantly falls in love with her? god no.
does she have a tragic past? no. bra's past is quite normal.

just look at a mary sue test on the net and punch in what we know about bra. you wont get good results.

I think he just said that to add some relevance to the page, if not significance, rather than admit the story was developed recently. Lately, it seems as if Salagir is pulling the story out of his ass given how asinine and poor researched some pages have been. In general, my overall opinion of him is he is a dreadful writer who's writing does not do Gogeta jr's illustrations justice.

Those are questions with rather rudimentary answers. You're going to have to do better than that.

A large number of reasons have been supplied, you just choose not to remember them. That said, I don't think Bra is quite a Mary Sue. She just happens to have several Sue traits.

and what are they? everyone just refuses to say why, but they delight in saying shes a sue. again without saying why. cos they know they are wrong and shes not a sue just because she has one or two sue traits.

Is taught abilities that were previously kept unique to one character.
No negative consequences. (Bra blasts Vegetto and Gohan, taking them out of the fight. Nevertheless, Buu doesn't absorb Brolly, Vegetto and Gohan live, and she feels bad about it for all of a page and a half.)

that was just bad writing. there should have been consequences but buu just walked away. bra obviously felt horrible about attacking her father and almost doomed the universe. that enough consequences for you? its obvious ssj2 has hurt others before. she says "i..again..". and cries. mary sues dont get called out on their mistakes and are perfect in every way. but bra directly disobeys her dad. and gohan even said "no bra!" meaning she was called out on her actions.

how do you know? did you read bra's mind during the other pages?

And here we go again. I didn't say that Bra was a Mary Sue. I said she had Mary Sue traits, then listed a few of them. And just like every other time me or anyone else has done this, you've disregarded the list of traits. Soon enough, you will forget them again, and then we'll repeat the pattern again when you claim that nobody has any reason to think Bra is a Mary Sue.
