Budokai was OK for the lulz.

Super DBZ was actually pretty good, I thought...probably because it was an arcade game first.

How's that? Or are you referring to laughing at the developers futile efforts at trying to make a good game?

Something like that. Nostalgia and breaking the system where you could, for one. Not something to unlock everything in, but not bad to play through once.

On it's own merits, it's terrible. That said, I consider the Tenkaichi system worse. >_>

Super DBZ I genuinely still enjoy though, for better or worse.

Super DBZ was a great concept, but rather subpar in its execution. For one thing, the combat was just too slow. For another, it's character choice was questionable at best (seriously, Chichi, Videl, and King Piccolo? Where the hell are Yamcha, Tien, Raditz, Nappa, Ginyu, Jeice, Burter, Recoom, Goten, and Kid Trunks? And what's with choosing Fat Buu over Super Buu and Kid Buu?). And all the SSJ levels act the same? While it was a game you could pick up and start playing immediately, it just didn't have the same kind of effort put into it that several other recent DBZ games have had.

Conversely, the Budokai Tenkaichi and Raging Blast games were excellently developed, and were quite fun. Once you'd devoted several hours into mastering the absurdly complex controls. These games were absolutely impossible to master (or even become competent at) without first working one's way through the long, boring tutorial system. However, if you could fight your way through that, it was actually possible to enjoy those games quite a bit.

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF Lol SSJ Future Gohan, what are these guys bragging about? Shin Budokai 2 even had SSJ2 Future Gohan, Shin Budokai also already had Pikkon in it and Nail was already playable even if it was a second costume, with that we can even throw in Piccolo Daimao and Goku's halo forms (dead guy not the M$ game). All I see is Spike doing the same route as Tenkaichi, add graphics, make it all shine and beautiful, add shitloads of characters and maintain the same shitty gameplay and camera. Hell when I went for a test run with RB1 I was thinking "Where the hell is everybody?" Coz I saw no one and the camera was freaking all over.

My first Dragon Ball game was Budokai 1, and that was more than enough for me to turn my back on the Budokai games. The Budokai Tenkaichi games is far better IMO.

Later I got Budokai Tenkaichi 1, 2 and 3 and they became better and better. I must admit that I was dissappointed by Raging Blast at first, but now I think it's pretty good game. It's not an awesome game, but a good one.

So I'm excited about Raging Blast 2

I agree with SSj Bardock and Gokan (maybe Gokan could get SSj and SSj2), but I think that we need base Gogeta, Gogeta SSj2 and Vegetto SSj2 before we get their SSj3 forms.
Another what-if I'd like to see is Coolza, a fusion between Freeza and Coola in their true (final) forms

Ultra Cell could be cool, but I must admit I don't like that drawing of him. He should look different than that.
I've always wanted transformation more for Cell.

Metal Broly as a LSSj = pale
Make him Mecha like Freeza and I'm in

Brola? Nah, I don't want her Smile

I kind of want to play as first form SSJ Gohan from the ROSAT. I kind of doubt they'd put him in as a character in RB2, but it might be a cool alternate skin.

Also, I would like to play as F. Trunks in his incarnation as he kills F.'s #17 and 18 and F. Cell. Kind of like what they did in Another Road, and also give him SSJ2 instead of ultra. yeah, I know he doesn't get SSJ2 (as far as we can tell), but it'd still be a cool What If if he went SSJ2 and killed Dabura.

id like a mary sue ish "create your won character" mode. there you could create your own fighter, starting with the race.. goign through appearance to skills and so on. that could be fun and since the game mechanics are kinda strict, you couldnt overpower your character Very Happy

I think it would stupid to be limited to race. Loads of possibilities would be lost.

Character creator mode would be awesome. I have made a couple of characters that I would like to play in a DBZ game. Though I agree with LunchPolice, that it shouldn't be limited to just 4-5 different races

i guess your misunderstanding me.

i meant it like the creator has a number of steps to create your character:

1 Race (all races of DB/Z/GT, with some of them actually being just different appearances, since they dont have special powers or skills known from the series)
2 Appearance (lots of modifying possibilities, going from head to toe, body type, skin color, hair, clothing of all body parts, decorative weapons not used in fights(but maybe special moves))
3 Base fighting style (typical martial arts schools from DB/Z/GT, with certain villains also being used as templates for fighting styles, weapon based fighting styles)
4 Basic Move Set (meaning punches, kicks, graplle moves, generic ki blasts and combos of those. after choosing the base style, there are default settings for this, which then can be mixed up, maybe putting a cell style punch in a wolf fang fist style move set or similar)
5 Special Move Set (all kinds of ki energy beams, balls, waves, transformations(with a sub menu to set the appearance changes for the transformation and the ki auras))
6 Name and Story

this self made character actually would get a complete "what if story" going from DB up to GT, with the character being in gokus position (starting out even before DB, with the character being able to choose stuff like obeying gohan from the get go or trying to run away or even kill gohan), being able to decide EVERYTHING. for example killing oolong instead of befriending him. killing yamcha, tien and so on. not making friends with anyone, or actually befriending the bad guys willingly. all thise choices have certain outcome and you actually play the complete timeline until the day omega sheron ins normally defeated. you can either really fill gokus role or live a completely different life.

you would get experience points to boost your skills/hp/Ki, pretty much rpg style. the story would be so variable, that you actually could attack and conquer planets for freeza and such.

the selfmade character could be used for vs matches aswell, always being at the level he has in his what if story atm.

i know this will never happen. its just too much work. but technically its possible by now.

a "your DB universe mode" like that would fulfill dreams for most of us Very Happy

Oh, OK. Building your character from scrap. That would be cool Cool

However, I don't want just the "Your own DB universe mode". I also want to be able to build a character and fight with him/her/it in Duel mode
