How to avoid Trolls
Troll. That's a name we give to the posters on the internet who have nothing better to do than tear others down because they feel too insecure about their own lives. Trolling is plentiful on the internet because this is where the most fragile people gather to converse, so naturally this i the prime hunting grounds for trolls. But you need not fear, for I am about to tell you how to deal with these immature children!
1) Don't block trolls. When blocked, trolls will just make new accounts to come back to your page! Instead, let them in.
2) Don't hide comments. When you do that, trolls see you as weak and post even more immature crap.
3) Respond to all troll comments. Ignoring them is foolish, as it suggests you are conceited, causing them to troll you even more.
4) Post facts about your personal life. Once those trolls see how much better you are in real life than they are, they'll be running away scared because they have nothing in their lives worth bragging about.
5) If Encyclopedia Dramatica makes an article about you, write a journal explaining why you don't care about the article. This will show those trolls that you have better things to do and therefore couldn't care less about their slings and insults.
6) If trolls continue to persist you, alert ED( a journal is best) that you will sue them for damage to your reputation. Those cowards will get the message and delete your page immediately with a quick apology.
Hope this helps, guys!

Obvious troll is giving bad advice.
It is true that trolls will make new accounts and come back to your page. That's why you block their IPs instead.Stick wrote:1) Don't block trolls. When blocked, trolls will just make new accounts to come back to your page! Instead, let them in.
Trolls might post comments once they realize you're ignoring them, but who cares; you can't see the comments, and they'll either give up or make themselves look foolish by repeatedly insulting someone who is clearly ignoring them.Stick wrote:2) Don't hide comments. Again, just hide their comments and ignore them. Either they'll get tired of trolling you without any responses, or they'll make themselves look foolish.Stick wrote:3) Respond to all troll comments. Ignoring them is foolish, as it suggests you are conceited, causing them to troll you even more.
This is a very, very bad thing to do. The number one tool people have on the internet is anonymity. Posting information about yourself on the internet is practically begging for identity theft, and has led to in-real life confrontations between trolls and their victims. Not all trolls are harmless.Stick wrote:4) Post facts about your personal life. This is a bad idea because it sends the opposite message to the trolls.Stick wrote:5) If Encyclopedia Dramatica makes an article about you, write a journal explaining why you don't care about the article. Nope. Again, trolls are anonymous and know it. That's what makes them so damn frustrating.Stick wrote:6) If trolls continue to persist you, alert ED( a journal is best) that you will sue them for damage to your reputation. No you don't.Stick wrote:Hope this helps, guys!

I don't think it was a joke, Leon, but frankly, I don't care whether this was intended as a one or not. The way Stick put it, someone is bound to fail to interpret it as such and may end up following it.

Eh. You just don't have the right kind of sense of humor for it.

Just ignore them. You don't need to do any of that stuff. If you're not giving them any response, there's no fuel for them and die out naturally.
