Amateratsu, a blend of Naruto, Avatar and Sandman:
Just did my first picture by hand, ever. Face and hand came out terrible, everything else came out decent:

Also, he lost his left arm, not his right arm. I just wasn't paying much attention when I drew the picture.

You speak with the arrogance and douche-baginess of a professional artist. Stick, show us one of your works!

When you say it that way you give the impression that drawing hands is your only area of drawing that's faulty, when you just suck period :)

Re: My Art Thread.
Huh. So stick was talking from the point of view of an experienced artist.
Hands are hard, but practice makes perfect. I've heard several different ways to go about that, ranging from simply observing an actual hand and drawing it as accurately as possible to dividing the hand up into basic shapes.Docter KillJoy wrote:I haven't drawn in ages.

*blinks*
Huh. >_>.
Hrm. I bet if I studied realistic drawing my anime proportions would be better at least. In another picture of bra (her going SSj after pans death) I can't get the shape and proportions of the chest right to save my ass.

Re: My Art Thread.
I find that proportions are much easier to do if you draw a light stick figure first to establish them, then draw the character over it.

Ok, Stick, you're actually pretty awesome at drawing. You don't have to be such an ass about it though

Re: My Art Thread.
Well, I was going to make a post about how many artists prefer for people to be absolutely brutal about their work but some never learn to distinguish between constructive criticism and destructive criticism, but there you have it.

You do realize by your own admission that my statement doesn't bother you, you show, with pitiful arrogance, that it does, in fact, bother you :)
I'm laughing at your feeble attempt to save face with an obviously stolen drawing, sad :(

Re: My Art Thread.
Yes. Many artists prefer for people to actively seek flaws in their works so that they can avoid them in future works. However, many of these same artists also fail to learn the difference between constructive criticism and destructive criticism. The result is that when they choose to extend this gesture to other artists, they fail to provide criticism that the other artist can use to improve. I was going to suggest that this may be the case with you. However, your comment indicated otherwise.
